I come from a family of newspaper-clipping, letter-writing activists; of common-sensical, equity-minded lawyers and judges; and of unassuming but profoundly talented artists and writers.
My mom spent afternoons during my childhood years penning requests to politicians for environmental justice, and late nights at her lamp-lit Bernina sewing machine. My dad worked long days word-smithing legal briefs behind his sprawling mahogany desk, and weekends fiddling with his acoustic and watercolors. My grandmothers quilted, gardened, and cooked (mmm). My one brother painted vivid tales with oils and words with a mastery beyond his years; my other enduringly practiced drums in our basement, rattling the floorboards with percussive rhythms. My dad’s father never fully retired from his judicial seat in the courtroom for the love of the job.
Whether in art or business, all my family’s work has been craft.
I value social impact and beauty, and for me, the intersection of the two is in design.
I am an art director and graphic designer, because I think my part towards hope and healing in the world is nestled in the overlap of genuine communication, approachable storytelling, and a little aspiration. Our ability to see our one-of-a-kind, differentiating perspectives in parallel with the common hopes and dreams we share is important—narrative matters.
I’m scrappy, solutions-oriented, energetic, and an eager learner. I construct high-level design strategy alongside an understanding of on-the-ground process and production. I relish in helping zealous, purpose-driven brands express the goodness and value of what they have to offer.
There is nothing I love more than fighting towards clarity and uncovering beauty in our everyday lives.
I love what I get to do.
